The Lingaa film starred Tamil Superstar RajiniKanth has break the Vijay's Kaththi film total collection and become most successful tamil film in the year 2014.
Lingaa become the only Tamil movie collected 32 crores rupees on it's first day of released. But before in the Tamil film industry, Vijay's Kaththi was collected 23.45 crores in it's first day released. Lingaa has broken the the record set by the Vijay's Kaththi. Kaththi had collected 71 crore rupees on its first weekend after being released on Thursday owing to Diwali festival while Lingaa has collected 100 crore rupees approximately.
